The genre “Nature Writing”

The genre “Nature Writing”

Conversation with writer Elke Heinemann

program | saturday, 27.02.2021 | 13:45 – 14:45

Via Great Britain and the USA, the genre of “nature writing” has arrived in Germany. Why is this literary genre so popular at the moment? And how do you find a literary approach to nature? We will explore this in this one-hour session with Elke Heinemann.

“Nature to Author – Author to Nature. #Strandgänge” is the name of one of her most recent radio features, produced in 2020 by WDR in cooperation with Bayerischer Rundfunk. Excerpts from the programme will be presented. Elke Heinemann will be present, talk about her work and answer questions from the audience.

Elke Heinemann was born in Essen and lives in Berlin after working in Paris and London. In 2018, the multi-award-winning writer and publicist received the Ruhr Literature Prize from the Ruhr Regional Association for her complete works.
